Determine the value of your Tintin Album within 1 minute

How does it work?

Do you want to know what your old Tintin albums are worth? That's not so easy. For example, did you know that the copyright year you find in the album says absolutely nothing about when the album was printed? But don't panic. We will tell you in a few steps what the real value of your album is.

Question 1 of 7

Does your album have a ISBN number?

Since 1971 all Tintin albums have a ISBN nummer. Does your album have one?

If your album has an ISBN number, you can find it on the back cover or one of the first pages in the album. See below some examples.
Question 2 of 7

Does your album have a hardcover or a softcover?

Albums from 1960 or before all have a hardcover. In the 60's and 70's albums with softcovers start to appear.

The hard covers are made of thick cardboard and you cannot bend them without breaking them. Hard covers are considerably thicker than the loose pages. The soft covers are only slightly thicker than a page and can easily be bent.
Question 3 of 7

What is the name of your album?

Great, now that we know you have an interesting album in front of you, the next question is what is the title of the album you have in front of you

Question 4 of 7

What's the latest Tintin album on the back?

If we know what the last Tintin album mentioned on the back is, we have a good indication of what pressure you have in front of you.

On the back of almost every Tintin album are mentioned the other Tintin albums that have been released until then. Sometimes they are in 1 column, sometimes 2 columns next to each other. All kinds of other stories are also mentioned (of Kwik and Flupke, Jo, Suus and Jokko). This step concerns the Tintin albums.

Question 5 of 7

Which Quick and Flupke albums are mentioned on the back?

On most albums it is also mentioned on the back which albums by Quick and Flupke have already been released.

Just like the list of Tintin albums that have already been published, you will find a list of Quick and Flupke albums that have been released in the past on the back. If we know which albums are mentioned, we can better determine exactly what print you have in front of you.

Question 6 of 7

Which albums looks the most like your album ?

Sometimes the different prints of an album are very similar and there are minimal differences to tell them apart. Which description best fits your album?

Question 7 of 7

What condition is your album in?

One of the most important things to determine the value of an album is the condition of the album. What condition is your album in?

Determining the condition of an album is difficult, but very important. Much of the value depends on the condition of the album. View the examples below or use our tool to quickly determine the condition of your album.

The value of your album is:

€
Price range
€ - €
Name
Series
Print
Year
Condition

There is a whole calculation behind this valuation. For example, we look at prices from auction sites, comic shops, and 2nd hand sites, but also take other albums from the same year or condition into account, for example. Because we take an average of that, it is possible that an album will yield slightly more or less when it is sold. It also depends on whether you buy an album privately from a private individual or via an auction site. With collectibles, of course, it remains "whatever the madman will give", but we know for sure that our price calculation is very accurate.

The price range indicates the lowest value we have seen and the highest value we have seen for the albums used to value your album. If the difference between those two values is high, this also means that our valuation is slightly less accurate and that the selling price can therefore be better or worse.

€0 - €25
Your album has an ISBN and/or a soft cover. Those albums are unfortunately worth a lot less than the hardcover albums from before that time. In good condition, these albums can still fetch a maximum of €25, but in many cases the price will remain around a few euros. Of course, this does not apply if you have a special print, signed print or other special copy. They can indeed be worth a lot of money. Would you like us to watch your album? If you send a short description and some photos, we will look at it immediately and let you know by email what unique item you have in your possession. What is important in any case: a photo of the front, back and a number of photos of the inside such as the endpapers, first pages and last page.
